Abstract

This research aims to identify the phenomenon of cyberbullying on social media platforms and its impact on certain psychological problems among adolescents. The research aims to identify the phenomenon of cyberbullying on social media platforms and its impact on certain psychological problems among adolescents considering some demographic variables. The study objectives included: Revealing the causes of cyberbullying on social media platforms, Identifying the psychological problems that adolescents are exposed to through their use of social media platforms, Determining the extent of adolescents' use of social media platforms. To achieve these objectives, the researchers relied on the descriptive correlational approach to understand and explain the relationship between the research variables. The research was conducted on a sample of adolescents, and a questionnaire was distributed to 480 university students of both genders. Data analysis, using the SPSS statistical package, led to several results:

There is a statistically significant positive correlation between cyberbullying and psychological problems (anxiety, depression, and internet addiction) among a sample of adolescents (males and females).
There is a statistically significant positive correlation between the use of social media platforms and psychological problems (anxiety, depression, and internet addiction) among a sample of adolescents (males and females).

The research concluded with several recommendations, including:

Limiting the personal information published on social media platforms.
Reporting suspicious or threatening accounts.
