Abstract

The corona pandemic that hit the world at the end of 2019 cast a clear shadow on all aspects of life, especially in educational aspects, as the repercussions of this health crisis required the adoption of quarantine measures, which in turn imposed a social distancing approach. This forced the world to adapt to these new circumstances from the educational perspective and accordingly change the perception of e-learning to being mandatory instead of being a modern educational style to assure the continuation of the educational process. In this study, the researcher is trying to identify the impact of the transformation to e-learning during the pandemic on the satisfaction of faculty members and students in public and private universities in Egypt. The researcher relied on the descriptive analytical approach and designed two questionnaires. The first questionnaire was addressed to faculty members to measure their satisfaction of e-learning during the pandemic, and the second one was addressed to the students to measure their satisfaction of-learning during the pandemic. The researcher also compared the results of public universities against private universities. The results indicated a statistically significant impact of the two dimensions of e-learning on the satisfaction of both faculty members and students. Regarding all aspects, there were no differences between faculty members satisfaction in public and private universities except for the institutional support. On the other hand, student’s satisfaction was affected by university’s classification dimension.
