Abstract

Due to the limited&stable share of Egypt’s water from Nile River&the high cost of desalinating seawater&health requirements for using groundwater&the scarcity of rainfall&the weakness of national economy&construction of the Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia&the wrong behavior of some in wasting&polluting water. We must not waste water&preserve it from pollution to achieve the difficult equation of self-sufficiency in food while maintaining a safe, healthy environment. Believing in the important role of media awareness campaigns in preserving resources by increasing citizens’ awareness.
    Research aimed to identify the level of environmental awareness of the problems of pollution &waste of water for the residents of the village of Hassanien-Giza Governorate in light of the current situation&to identify the most important factors affecting the level of awareness&identify the most important water issues&problems existing in the village
Most important results of the research that the largest%of the field research sample falls into the middle category of the environmental awareness index,&the most important water issues&problems existing is “water is contaminated with impurities&not suitable for human,”
Research recommendations are,the need to intensify media awareness campaigns on water issues&problems, especially in rural villages, and for those in charge of planning media awareness campaigns to study the obstacles that cause the target audience to be unable to change their wrong behaviors towards water, and for those responsible for implementing awareness campaigns to Media on water issues and problems by taking advantage of individuals who are willing to participate in volunteer campaigns related to water issues and problems.
