Abstract

This study addressed the effects of agriculture on bird attraction and its risks to air traffic safety by shedding light on the current situation of Egyptian airports, the general features of air traffic safety at Egyptian airports, and the environmental and agricultural aspects and their impact on air traffic safety, applying it to Sphinx Airport. The study also examined the effects of agriculture on bird attraction and its risks to air traffic safety, revealing an increase in local indicators related to air traffic safety in Egypt. It also revealed a statistically significant correlation between the number of aviation accidents in Egypt and the cultivated areas within the geographical boundaries of Egyptian airports, within a distance of 50 km. The results indicated an inverse relationship and a statistically significant effect, consistent with economic theory, between the volume of spending on developing and maintaining the infrastructure of Egyptian airports as an independent variable and the number of aviation accidents as a dependent variable. Increasing the volume of spending on developing and maintaining the infrastructure of Egyptian airports by 10% reduces the probability of aviation accidents by 30%, and increasing the cultivated areas by 10% increases the number of birds seen in the vicinity of Sphinx Airport by 19%.
