Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop positive concepts and attitudes among El Dabaa residents toward the nuclear power plant using a video journalism program. To achieve this, the researchers prepared a list of issues related to nuclear plants using a video journalism program. They developed a concept test and a population attitude scale for El Dabaa residents toward the nuclear power plant. The researchers used the experimental approach and selected a study group from the population of El Dabaa city. The study tools were applied pre-test with the group and then the program was presented (using video journalism). The tools were applied to a post-test. The results were then processed using the SPSS statistical program. The results showed a statistically significant difference in the scores obtained by the experimental group of residents of El Dabaa City in the test of concepts related to the nuclear plant before and after implementing the video journalism program in favor of the post-implementation. A statistically significant difference was found in the scores obtained by a group of El Dabaa city residents on the scale of positive attitudes towards the nuclear power plant before and after implementing the video journalism program in the direction of the post-implementation.The study recommended the use of the proposed program, which utilizes video journalism, to develop concepts and attitudes among residents of the local community in El Dabaa.
