Abstract

The research aims at using renewable energy with appropriate economic feasibility and high efficiency that leads to reliance on environmentally friendly natural energies and reduce the use of fossil fuels and their negative effects on the ecosystem, the primary objective is to achieve sustainability at a reasonable initial cost, therefore, the research relies on the applied approach by designing and implementing a hybrid energy system that uses renewable energy sources (solar energy, wind energy and biogas energy) as these sources are available within the scope of the area where the research is being applied in Egypt. Photovoltaic cells are used in an integrated system with national grid to produce the electrical energy necessary to operate a farm (agricultural production unit). Mathematical calculations were made, and software was used to analyze different designs, the final design of the hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) has been implemented, energy conservation techniques and load management have been applied, and measurements have been recorded and analyzed. Results were obtained which showed that this design leads to savings of about 50 to 70% of the total electrical energy consumption throughout the year, the cost of electrical energy production unit is about $0.11/kWh. Also, about 40% of the savings of the total consumption of liquefied gas stove are needed for cooking and heating purposes by using biogas digester.
