MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES FRAMEWORK FOR IMPROVING ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE: AN APPLIED STUDY ON AL-DAMARDASH HOSPITAL

Abstract

Health institutions deal with large amounts of environmental, economic and social information, and face many challenges in order to be able to measure their performance in light of the indicators and governing laws, and make decisions for development and identify the most important environmental impacts, and show and link the environmental objectives of institutions and improve environmental performance, and management by objectives works to clearly define the objectives to be achieved, and define the areas of responsibility for each individual in the administrative organization in light of the expected results, and therefore the research aimed to identify the role of using the management by objectives method in health care institutions in improving environmental performance, and in order to achieve the research goal, the researchers relied on the descriptive analytical approach with the use of the case study method for Al-Damardash Hospital affiliated to Ain Shams University, and a questionnaire was designed as a study tool in order to collect the necessary information for the research, and the questionnaire was distributed to a sample of hospital workers, which amounted to (180) male and female employees, and the results of the research reached the existence of a statistically significant positive relationship between the application of the management by objectives method in its three dimensions (participation - commitment - feedback) and improving environmental performance in health care institutions, and the researchers recommended working on applying the management by objectives method in various institutions and bodies, especially hospitals And medical bodies in order to benefit from the application of this modern administrative method.
