Abstract

Whatever the role of state institutions, and whatever functions they perform, the most important function is to preserve the social fabric from fragmentation, in addition to maintaining social peace or not disturbing public security, so that these institutions can play their role in social control. And the unification of societal efforts, it is necessary to eliminate the dangers that threaten this social unity and to eliminate it in its infancy, including rumors, As rumors are one of the most dangerous and deadly social phenomena in the social and political reality, and perhaps the main reason behind its danger to the social structure is its loss of credibility, which leads to wrong decisions and procedures that affect individual and national capacities and disrupt the proper decision-making mechanism. Violence is a result of a lack of information, because individuals in the midst of events are trying to find out the facts, and the lack of information results in taking rumors as facts and dealing with them on this basis; Rumors change facts and lead to negative results that are not limited to a specific field or a specific activity of the various areas and activities of society.
