Abstract

The research aimed to reveal the relationship between environmental responsibility and rationalization of drinking water consumption considering the sustainable development goals. The researchers used the descriptive comparative correlational approach. The research sample consisted of two groups: the first group from a planned area, Sheikh Zayed City in Giza, and the second from a random area, Bulaq Al-Dakrour area in Giza. The research tools included the environmental responsibility scale and the rationalization of drinking water consumption scale (prepared by the researcher). The results showed that there is a positive statistically significant correlation between environmental responsibility and rationalization of drinking water consumption considering the sustainable development goals. The research recommended the need to implement a set of guidance programs for residents of planned areas as well as random areas to develop environmental responsibility, and the need to include management skills and self-direction towards preserving natural resources and spreading awareness and increasing awareness programs among residents of those areas on the need to rationalize drinking water consumption.
