THE IMPACT OF DEVELOPING THE TREATMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN FARES MAGAZINE ON DEVELOPING CHILDREN'S ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AND BEHAVIOR

Abstract

The research aimed to develop environmental awareness and behavior among children by developing the treatment of environmental issues in the Egyptian children’s magazine “Fares” and setting a vision for this development. The research belongs to descriptive research, and the research tools used in collecting data and methods of preparing it included: preparing a list of environmental issues and problems, Designing a content analysis form (form for external appearance analysis tool, content analysis tool form).A qualitative and quantitative analysis was conducted of a sample of issues issued over a period of two years. Through that analysis, the absence of live news coverage of environmental events and news in the pages of the magazine was observed, and there was no presence of the art of journalistic investigations or dialogues that address environmental issues at all. There was a complete neglect of the art of investigation and dialogue and their advantages in explanation, simplification and clarification, and the literary arts were not invested optimally, and they could have been invested in journalistic treatments of environmental issues to make them easier and simpler to understand and reach the minds of children. A number of errors were also observed in the arts. Excretory. The research recommended the necessity of developing the journalistic and literary content related to addressing environmental issues, paying attention to developing journalistic output, seeking the assistance of experts and specialists in the field of the environment, training and preparing journalistic cadres in the field of the environment, allocating a fixed page to the environment, and fixed and diverse sections on the environment distributed on the pages of the magazine, provided that it is During which it simplifies environmental information and knowledge. And also recommend the need for permanent and continuous cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and state agencies concerned with environmental affairs, and to go deeper into dealing with the issues by addressing all their aspects, by addressing their causes and the resulting damages, proposing solutions to them, clarifying the role of children and how they can participate in solving them, and involving them in editing the magazine.
