Abstract

The research aims to explore the relationship between environmental values and the changing consumption patterns among the inhabitants of Shatanouf village in Menoufia Governorate. This study is classified as descriptive research, employing a social survey methodology using both comprehensive and sample-based approaches. A questionnaire was administered to a random sample of residents in Shatanouf village. The results revealed a strong correlation between the adoption of environmental values and shifts in consumption patterns, particularly concerning cultural, educational, and income levels. The inhabitants are increasingly engaging in bulk purchasing and storage of goods. Key indicators of changing consumption patterns include food and clothing habits, celebration of social events, and the purchase of electrical appliances. This research contributes recommendations for relevant authorities to promote sustainable consumption behaviors in Egyptian villages, aiming to enhance the efficiency of consumption changes. Additionally, it suggests conducting training courses for personnel in training units to familiarize them with the concepts of consumption and environmental values across various ministries, especially under current circumstances.
