Abstract

to achieve the best orientation to be applied in each case. It also The research carries out a practical study using the simulation program "Design Builder" to show a model of a residential unit with the same orientation. This model is applied by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development throughout the Arab Republic of Egypt without regard to the different nature of the climate and orientation, taking into account design determinants and variables (orientation, presence of air space) which are input into the program. It also discusses the results of the practical study of applying the green façade systems on the different orientations (30 ° starting from the North) of the residential unit. This is done using the simulation program on the rate of energy consumption and the comparison of the results in order shows the effect of the green facades systems on reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted.
Finally, the conclusions of the results of the practical study are reviewed to find a gateway to the application of green façade systems on the facades of same-orientation residential buildings. Moreover, the research determining the basis of analysis and implementation strategies for this system to reduce the consumption of ventilation and mechanical heating. This, in turn, reduces energy consumption, which is the goal of the research.
