Abstract

The research aims to develop the skills of solving

environmental problems by including environmental issues

in a unit in the Arabic language subject based on the

strategy of divergent thinking and measuring its

effectiveness.

A list of environmental problems suitable for first-grade

preparatory students was prepared, and a unit was designed

in light of it, which consisted of five lessons. A test was

designed for my knowledge of environmental issues

consisting of 45 questions, and a measure of environmental

problem-solving skills consisting of three axes.

The axis of identifying environmental problems consists of

(16) items, and the axis of organizing information and data

about environmental problems consists of (10) items, and

the axis of proposing solutions to environmental problems

consists of (11) items.)The measurement tools were applied previously, then a unit was applied to the experimental group consisting of (40)

male and female students from the first year of middle school, then the measurement was applied post-measurement, and the results resulted in a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the

experimental group in the pre-and post-application of the scale Environmental Problems Solving Mart in favor of the

post application at the level (0.05) and there is a statistically

significant difference between the mean scores of the group

at the level (0.05).

The research recommended the need to include a unit in the

Arabic language based on the strategy of divergent thinking

to solve environmental problems for students in the first

preparatory grade.
