Abstract

The present research drives at developing knowledge and attitudes towards good health and well-being. A list of some knowledge and attitudes that should be developed among workers at Ain Shams University Hospitals has been prepared. In light of this, a training program consisting of (15) training sessions distributed over five weeks has been designed. Also, a test of environmental knowledge is designed and consists of (27) items; in addition to a scale of attitudes towards good health and well-being consists of (89) items. A pre-measurement is applied, then the training program has been applied to an experimental group consisting of (31) male/female employees working in Ain Shams University hospitals; then a post-measurement tool has been applied. The results of the study indicate that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group regarding the pre/post application of the environmental knowledge test, in favor of the post application at (0.05) significance level. There is also a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group regarding the pre/post application of the scale of attitudes towards good health and well-being, in favor of the post application at (0.05) significance level. The research recommends the necessity to apply the training program to the workers in Ain Shams University Hospitals, and to include the training program in a group of training programs provided to the workers in Ain Shams University Hospitals.
