EVALUATING THE MEDIA TREATMENT OF THE EFFECTS OF CORONA VIRUS ON THE INDIVIDUALS AND ENVIRONMENT ON THE WEBSITES OF SOME MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The current study drives at evaluating the media treatment of the effects of the Corona virus on individuals and the environment in the sites of some media organizations and institutions. It also aims to provide information and skills to deal with the Corona virus through a proposed model. The study has used the descriptive and experimental approach, by designing several basic tools in the study to collect data from the research population, namely, a form for analyzing the content of websites and a proposed model for applying a knowledge test and a notecard as a means that serves the objectives of the study. The researchers identified a list of the most important issues related to the effects of the Corona virus, then they analyzed the content (form and content) of a number of websites of some organizations and media institutionsA model was designed that deals with the most important issues related to the effects of the Corona virus through infographics. An information test and a notecard were prepared. The study sample (200 items) was divided into two groups, the control and experimental groups. The pre-application was done on the control and experimental groups. The proposed form was presented to the experimental group. The post-application was conducted on the two groups. The results showed effectiveness of the infographics as a media tool in acquiring information and skills to deal with the Corona virus. The study recommended applying the proposed model to groups of individuals through various institutions.
