THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CHARACTERISTICS OF RURAL HOUSING AND SOME SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC VARIABLES FOR ITS INHABITANTS A FIELD STUDY APPLIED TO A VILLAGE IN SHARKIA GOVERNORATE

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the relationship between the characteristics of rural housing and some social and economic variables for the heads of families residing there. The study relied on Sample social survey method, which was applied to a random sample of heads of households in rural dwellings, the size of which was (124) individuals. he results of the study confirmed the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the characteristics of rural housing in (house type - building material - number of rooms - housing area) and none in (household possession) and the social variables of heads of households, which are due to (educational level),  As well as the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the characteristics of rural housing in (house type - number of rooms in the house - housing area) and not found in (household possession - and the building material used) and the social variables of heads of household, which are due to (number of family members). As for the economic variables, there is a statistically significant relationship between the characteristics of rural housing in (house type - housing construction material) and not in (household possession - number of rooms - housing area) and the economic variables of heads of households, which are due to (the practical situation). There is also a statistically significant relationship between the characteristics of rural housing in (house type - housing construction material) but not in (household ownership - number of rooms - housing area) and the economic variables of heads of household, which are due to (income level).
