AN EVALUATION STUDY OF THE GOVERNMENTAL EFFORTS AND SOCIETAL PARTICIPATION ENCOUNTERING POLLUTION IN SOME VILLAGES IN DELTA REGION CASE STUDY ON QALIUBIYA GOVERNORATE

Abstract

Egypt has generally suffered from environmental pollutions especially, with Garbage, Reeks, Sewage and Agriculture’ remnants found at Egypt’s governments. There are great efforts from the state to deal with that bad phenomenon. Also, NGOs plays rules in counteracting the environmental pollution’ effects.
This study seeks to evaluate the efforts made at the government and at the grassroots levels by NGOs to counters the environmental pollution’ effects caused by fumes, sewage, and other various types of wastes (Garbage and Agricultural wastes).
The researcher has chosen Qaliubiya government to study it with the identification of the two local unit’s places; the first was Monshaat Alkram that consists of three villages (Monshaat Alkram, Arab Juhayna and Arab Elswalha and the second was El-Meridj that consists of three villages (El-Meridj, Kafr Sendwah and Kafr Shobak). 
A group of NGOs in the villages perform its mission towards the community that includes a plan of promotion of the local community and work for development and servicing the citizens. And work to raise the level of living of their lives.
The study seeks to know the actual role played by the government (Research Centers, the Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of Agriculture) and NGOs on environment.
The researcher involved the curriculum anthropologist, the curriculum ecological and the descriptive approach, in the study of the local community, in addition to the tools of scientific research including (interview, observation, cohabitation and homeliness) and the use of newspaper assay and pictures. He has involved some of the theories which supply the study with scientific ideas including functional theory, Interactive theory. He also hired with a random sample of 175 subjects, 25 subjects from each village, using.
Then statistical analysis for the study results including: -
1-   The lack of sewage:
(A)The first local unit (El Keram building) and related Suburbs.
(B) The second local unit (half of Shobak village and village of Kafr Shobak)
2-   Garbage spread dramatically with the lack of landfills in villages Find.
3-   Increasing of agricultural wastes and burning it with not fully benefit.
Recommendations:
1-Task protocols between the responsive ministries and research centers with the allocation of land for the public interest to resolve the output of waste and sewage pollution problems with the establishment of factories to recycle garbage and agricultural wastes at the entrance to each government for sustainable development purposes.
