THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING E-LEARNING OBJECTS FOR DEVELOPING SOME ELEMENTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY FOR PREPARATORY STAGE STUDENTS

Abstract

The aim of the research is to develop some elements of environmental enlightenment through a program based on the production of electronic educational elements. Therefore, the researchers prepared a list of some environmental problems by referring to previous research and studies, and the opinions of specialists, which included (7 main issues) from which 16 environmental problems are branched, including (39 concepts). The research tools were prepared and included the design of electronic educational elements accompanied by scientific content that included objectives, content, activities and evaluation. The elements of electronic learning are implemented according to sequential stages based on self-learning using the educational computer, and this method suits the level and characteristics of the students at this stage, and contributes to the development of the elements of their environmental enlightenment represented in (attitudes - skills) as well as the advantages and characteristics of the electronic learning elements many. A measure of environmental enlightenment was also prepared, which included (a measure of environmental trends and a measure of environmental skills), and the proposed program was applied to a group of 35 preparatory second-grade students, using both the descriptive approach and the experimental approach to suit the nature of this research.
After the application of the electronic learning elements program, the environmental enlightenment scale was subsequently applied to the research group. It was found that the average scores of the experimental group increased after the statistical treatment of these degrees, with a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students on the environmental enlightenment scale before and after applying the electronic educational elements in favor of the post. As well as the presence of statistically significant differences in the degrees of each dimension of environmental enlightenment before and after the application of the program in favor of the dimension, which shows the effectiveness of the e-learning elements program in the development of environmental enlightenment.
The researchers recommend the necessity of using e-learning elements and linking them to the curricula of the preparatory stages because of their effective impact on the development of environmental enlightenment.
