A PROPOSED MODEL FOR A MEDIA CAMPAIGN FOR MEETING FLOODS CRISIS IN THE RED SEA GOVERNORATE

Abstract

The study aims to create a proposed model for a media campaign to raise the level of environmental awareness among the citizens of the Red Sea Governorate towards the flood crisis, in terms of public awareness of the phenomenon, its environmental effects, and ways and methods of confronting the phenomenon.
The proposed model helps to raise the level of environmental awareness among the citizens of the Red Sea, in addition to motivating them to actively participate in collective action to confront environmental disasters, and activate the role of the media in facing disasters and not be limited to mere news, as the media message is completed by achieving the desired goal.
The proposed model was applied to a sample of the study population of 100 individuals, and then the environmental awareness scale was applied before and after applying the proposed model, using the experimental approach.
The research reached the following result:
The effectiveness of the proposed campaign model in developing public awareness towards the flood crisis according to the available means through the research, as it was found that there are statistically significant differences between the tribal application and the post application of the study sample. ), which is a statistically significant value at the level (0.01), and the mean of the pre-application was (24.48) and the mean of the post-application (32.72) in favor of the post-application.
