Abstract

The present study drives at identifying the impact of environment's social and physical stress on affiliation of children who are working, identifying as well the relationship between child laboring and affiliation. This study belongs to the descriptive type of studies, using the social survey approach that counts on questionnaire as the study basic tool for collecting data. The study sample consists of (200) items of working male/female children in industrial workshops  in both rural and urban areas and age stage (9-17 yrs. Old). They are divided equally into (100) items from Manawat village representing the rural sample and (100) items from Al-Herfeyein (craftsmen) area representing the urban sample. The most important study results are that there are significant statistical differences between average score of the rural sample and the urban sample of working children at significance level (0.05) regarding the environment's social and physical stress and its impact on affiliation. The study recommends presenting social, health, and economic care for poor families; so, they would be capable of fulfilling their needs and rearing their children instead of driving them into the labor market at early stage. Also, the work place should be appropriate for a child and should be healthy and bearing no risks. The work hours should be limited and a rest time in between. Moreover, a child should be dealt with respect , taking into consideration his nature as a child, and he should be treated with dignity as a human being which makes him satisfied for his work and non-exposed to psychological-behavioral  problems. This reinforces the feeling of affiliation towards home that should be deepened through family group-activities such as trips or journey that would increases a child's knowledge and sustain his affiliation towards his country.
