Abstract

This study aims to achieve the following objectives: To determine the characteristics of women beneficiaries of the services of NGOs, to identify the services provided by NGOs to achieve women's empowerment to reduce the environmental and psychological pressures they face, and to identify the differences between women's environmental pressures To identify the differences between the characteristics of women in both rural and urban areas and to identify the differences between the role of NGOs and the empowerment of women to reduce the environmental and psychological pressures in both rural and urban areas. The study relied on both theory of role and pressure as a theoretical guide, The study is based on a comprehensive survey of the members of the board of directors of the NGOs in the study community and the sample social survey of women benefiting from the services of the NGOs in the study society. (74) single, a simple random sample of women with dependents who benefited from the services of civil associations in both rural and urban areas. The sample represents 10% of the total number of beneficiaries, reaching (134) The study relied on two data collection tools: a questionnaire on the role of NGOs in achieving the empowerment of women applied to the members of the Board of Directors of the study society; the second questionnaire on the psychological and environmental pressures facing women applied to women benefiting from the services of NGOs. The most important results of the study were: The differences between women were statistically significant in the pressures associated with urban and rural education at a significant level of 0.05, while there were no statistically significant differences between women in both rural and urban areas in work pressures, health pressures, income and expenditure pressures, and household pressures. There are also statistically significant differences between the characteristics of women in both rural and urban areas, which were represented in the social situation and the type of housing at a significant level of 0.01 The study recommends the importance of developing small projects for women to achieve their empowerment in society.
