Abstract

Environment pollution is one of the most important issues in the world and one of the critically risky problems that reflects on a child’s health. Therefore, it is important to spread out awareness, correcting community concept towards the environment, reinforce the health behavior and healthy food and its relation to growth of child’s IQ, since lots of diseases have spread out because of water, food, and the environment’s pollution with lead. Also, children are exposed to unhealthy air loaded by toxic substances and emissions of plants and cars. Multiple researches and studies are administered about the impact of environment on children’ health and concluded that several risks occur if no solutions are done to solve the problem and create a safe environment. This necessitates spread out of environmental awareness, respects legislated laws and punishing offenders. Hence, the researchers aim to identify the relationship between prevalence of some air pollutants and the potentiality of evolution of different behavior patterns threatening with having mental disabilities in a sample of late childhood period. The researchers use the descriptive-analytical predictive method and appropriate statistical tests for checking validity of hypotheses and study questions. The sample consists of (50) male/female children who reside in Shubra El-Khaima area. Study tools are represented in primary data form, the socio-economic level form, scale of early alarming of mental disability, scale of social interaction, scale of Cornel for neurologic and psychosomatic aspects, scale of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and scale of behavioral problems. Results indicate that there is a signficant relationship between prevalence of some air pollutants and the potentiality of emergence of different behavioral patterns threatening of mental disabilities among children of the study sample
