THE SHORTAGE OF WATER RESOURCES IN EGYPT AND THE ASSESSMENT OF ITS EFFECTS WITH ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENTS

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effects of the lack of water resources and their negative repercussions and risks on the Egyptian society in order to face potential risks with the various environmental updates invading Egypt and the world. To achieve objectives of this study, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to officials of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, experts of the Ministry of Environment and a group of academics at Ain Shams University. To achieve the objectives of this study, the authors relied on the descriptive analytical approach through the theoretical and field studies to obtain the necessary data. In this study, the survey lists method has been used to collect the primary data needed in order to conduct the field study and prepare a survey list that was designed to help test its hypotheses.
Results of this study confirmed the existence of a positive correlation between the dimensions of environmental impact assessment of the lack of water resources with of environmental updates.
 
Several recommendations are concluded from this study, the most important of which is the need to maximize cooperation between ministries and agencies in order to put in place the necessary measures to ensure a fair distribution of available water resources and sustainable development in a way that ensures the preservation of development gains and facing future crises.
