Abstract

The study aims to identify how each of the Egyptian and British newspapers  deals with issues of climate change through their presentation of international agreements, and to identify the points of agreement and differences between them in dealing with this issue, and to present the issues of climate change and their international agreements through news treatment, and also aims to identify The press forms used in the two newspapers, presenting the issues of climate change and the relevant international agreements through news coverage. The study used the survey method, both descriptive and analytical, as well as the comparative method and quantitative and qualitative comparisons were made for this sample based on a form and content analysis form for the study newspapers (Egyptian and British).
Through the analytical study, it became clear that The Times newspaper (British) was interested in studying the issue of climate change significantly, due to the highlighting of the conferences and agreements that were published on the issue, proposals and opinions to solve this issue, and it also dealt with various environmental issues and the extent of their impact and connection to the issue of climate change. Meanwhile, Al-Ahram newspaper (Egyptian) paid little attention, as the newspaper was more interested in presenting pollution issues in general than in presenting the issue of climate change. The study concluded that there are statistically significant differences in the news treatment of the issue of climate change in favor of The Times newspaper.
The research recommended the need to develop the performance of newspapers and to use multiple sources when publishing the issue of climate change because of their effective impact in increasing readers with extensive information on the issue, and the need for coordination between research and scientific bodies and the media in order to support the media with an advanced environmental database on the issue.
