PROPOSED FRAMEWORK FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION CASE STUDY: EGYPTIAN GENERAL PETROLEUM

Abstract

The main Goal of this study is to show the need for strategic planning for environmental disaster risk reduction in its proper framework, By identify the opinion of the managers towards the effectiveness of a system of strategic planning for environmental disaster risk reduction in order to determine the extent of readiness and preparedness, in the EGPC in dealing with disasters.
The researchers depend on the analytical descriptive methodology, through the social survey style, questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of (43) managers, the valid questionnaires are (41) questionnaire.
From the results of the study, the reality of strategic planning to reduce the risk of environmental disasters followed based on the need to provide a plan even if this plan not fits in implementation.
The study recommended that there are a need to develop organizational structures for the management of environmental disaster risk reduction and the establishment of new departments within the organizational structures of the risks.
The study recommended that there are a need to promote a culture of reducing the risk of environmental disasters, including an attempt to prevent disasters if possible, mitigation and preparedness.
