SATISFYING THE SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE NEW URBAN COMMUNITIES IN TERMS OF QUALITY OF LIFE INDICATORS - CASE STUDY OF SIX OCTOBER CITY

Abstract

The Study Aimed to Identify the Capacity of The New Communities to Satisfy the Social and Psychological Needs of their Population in Terms of Indicators of Life Quality. The Study Has Followed the Relational Descriptive Approach as It Fits the Nature of the Study, The Theoritical Approach of the Study is Maslow's Theory of Motivation Hierarchy of Needs, is That Human Beings are Motivated by Unsatisfied Needs, and that Certain Lower Factors Need to be Satisfied Before Higher Needs Can be Satisfied. Random Sample consisted of (300) Person has been drawn. The Study Used Two Tools, the First is a Questionnaire to Measure Life Quality Indicators in the city, The Second is a Measure of the Satisfaction of Social and Psychological Needs. By Analyzing the Data of the Tables, the Study Concluded That the Population of the New Communities Recorded Low Level of Quality of Life, and High Level of Satisfying the Social and Psychological Needs.
Conclusions: Study can be summed up as following: The Necessity of Supplying Security Points Distributed Inside the Districts to Ensure Security and to Arrest the Thieves and Thugs. The Study also Think that There is a Need to Intensify the Spotlights on the Private Universities and to Follow Them up because of the low level of Education, There is also a Need to Establish a Branch of a Governmental University in the City, In Addition to Paying Attention to the Construction of a school for basic Education and Secondary Schools in Each District.
