THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND ITS RELATION TO LITERARY CREATIVITY COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN RURAL AND URBAN AREA

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the differences in the quality of life and literary creativity, and to determine the nature of the relationship between the quality of life and literary creativity, and also search for the features of the quality of life in the literary product of the study sample, and the short story was chosen to be the literary genre used in this study.
After setting many specific conditions for the research sample, the sample was settled in its final form, and it included 20 participants, (10) in the rural (8 males, 2 females) with an average age of (46.5) and a standard deviation of (2, 9), and (10) from the urban area (7 males, 3 females) with an average age of (46.9) and a standard deviation of (2.9), and it was taken into account in their selection that they are in the age range of 40-5 years, and that In order to achieve homogeneity in the sample, and also to ensure that their talent has matured, and their creative experience is established. The study relied on the comparative analytical descriptive method. The study tools included the quality of life scale issued by the World Health Organization (WHO). And a measure of literary creativity,inquiry, and content analysis using environmental criticism tools.
The study revealed several results, the most important of which are: the presence of statistically significant differences between the rural sample and the urban sample in both quality of life and literary creativity, as it was found from the analysis of the content of the narrative works under study, the presence of dimensions of quality of life in these works, and the presence of distinctive features for each of the countryside Urban in the literary product, these features with all their social, psychological and economic patterns, as well as the historical legacy of each of them, and the system of relations governing its members. The study concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the need to pay attention to improving the quality of life, because of its impact on literary creativity, and creativity in general, and also the need to think about creative solutions to improve the quality of life, as the relationship between them is intertwined and affects each other. The study also recommended paying attention to studies of environmental criticism, given its importance in monitoring the relationship between the individual and the environment in which he lives, and the extent to which he is affected and affected by it.
