Abstract

This study drives at identifying the development of environmental responsibility among youth in youth centers. It is a study in which the research is based on the experimental method, using the one-experimental group, the pre/post measurement of the study tool (the Environmental Responsibility Scale), and its implementation on a sample consisting of (100) items of youth (enrolled in youth centers) in four different regions.
The most prominent results are the adoption and high degree of viewing of the documentary film (The Environmental Responsibility) through the Zoom Program, because of the current circumstances of the Corona virus pandemic; as this film works to provide young people with a tremendous amount of environmental information in Egypt and its resources. It also enhances Egypt’s positive attitudes towards the environment. There is a statistically significant correlation between the respondents' level of use of the documentary film and their attitudes towards the raised environmental issues. There is a statistically significant correlation between the respondents' degrees of dependence on the documentary film (of environmental responsibility) through their zoom and awareness of information about the environmental issues raised.
The study recommends developing the dimensions of environmental responsibility among youth who are enrolled in youth centers. It also recommends working on the increase of awareness of young people of different ages involved in the development of environmental responsibility in its various dimensions by employing environmental documentary films and coordination between the Ministry of Youth and members of the faculty in universities to hold training courses to train workers to use the proposed environmental documentary films to develop environmental responsibility among young people and achieve more coordination and cooperation between different cinema departments and space channels for the public good.
