MOTHERS PSYCHOLOGICAL HARDNESS AND ITS RELATION TO SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL ADJUSTMENT OF THEIR EDUCABLE MENTALLY DISABILITY CHILDREN

Abstract

The study aimed at revealing the relationship between psychological hardiness for mothers of children with educable mental disability and psychological and social adjustment for their children, the researcher used the comparative correlative descriptive methodology in the current study.
Study sample consisted of a group of 36 children and their mothers aging between (6-9), their IQ ranging between (55-70), psychological hardiness scale for mothers was applied on them prepared by Emad Mekhemar 2002, psychological and social adjustment scale for their children prepared by Abdullah Gouda 2011, educational social level form prepared by Faiza Youseif 1980.
The study concluded the following results:
·      There is a statistic ally significant relationship between psychological hardiness for mothers and psychological social adjustment for their children with mild mental disability.
·      There is no differences between mothers of children with mental disability on hardiness scale according to education level.
·      There are no statistically significant differences between males and females on psychological and social adjustment scale for children with mild mental disability.
