THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A PROGRAM BASED ON STRATEGIC BEHAVIOR MAPS IN DEVEOPLING ETHIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL BEHAVIOR AMONG A SAMPLE OF KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN

Abstract

The research aimed at studying effectiveness of using behavior maps strategy in developing ethics and environmental behavior of kindergarten children, so the researchers prepared a list of environmental ethics, it consists of 9 main environmental subjects, 30 sub components and 40 significant and positive environmental behavioral indicators that kindergarten children should acquire then preparing a based program on behavior maps strategy for developing ethics and environmental behavior for kindergarten children, it is a component which includes teacher's guide and student's book, after analyzing content of kindergarten methodology in grade 1 and 2 in view of ethic and environmental behavior list that the researchers concluded, the pre application was conducted of study tools that include IQ, Good enough Harris draw a man test and the depicted environmental ethic scale consisting of 46 subjects and 9 main environmental subjects on the two groups (the experimental group and the control group), the proposed program was applied on the experimental group only, then the post application of study tools formerly on (the experimental group and the control group) then applying environmental behavior observation form on the experimental group only, study sample was chosen as one of early childhood school halls in Monshaat Naser suburb in Cairo governorate, it consisted of 20 children of both sexes. The control group was chosen from other hall in the same school, it consisted of 20 children of both sexes, the researchers benefited from descriptive methodology in building the theoretical side and preparing study tools and the semi experimental methodology as the experimental and control group existed, results concluded:

There are statistical significant differences between degrees average of control group children and experimental group degrees in post application in favor of experimental group that studies the program in environmental behavior for kindergarten children.
There are statistical significant differences between degrees average of experimental group children in pre scale as compared with post scale after applying the program in favor of post scale in environmental ethics and environmental behavior for kindergarten children.

The most important recommendations are:

Coordinating between kindergarten administration and the family in developing ethics and environmental behavior for children.
Making guardians aware of the importance of developing intact ethic and environmental behavior.
