Abstract

This research seeks to achieve a main objective, which is to assess the environmental and economic return of using solar energy, to conduct a case study of one of the projects of the Nasr Pharmaceutical Chemicals Company proposed in the Cairo governorate, Al-Khanka area, with the aim of determining the appropriate economic and environmental feasibility to implement the project and choose the optimal alternative to the energy used. The study period includes from 2005 until 2019, as this period is the beginning of the solar heating and energy rationalization project at El Nasr Pharmaceutical Chemicals Company, where interest in solar energy was proposed as an alternative to electric energy, and many investments were directed to it, and there is a desire to evaluate this experience during this The modern period, before its expansion, a questionnaire was designed that includes the effectiveness of tools for measuring the return from the use of solar energy and the level of economic growth of the industry. About 270 individual employees of the company were selected, and this study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach. The results of the field study resulted in a study of the study hypotheses that the study should answer them, which is the first hypothesis: There is an effect of the effectiveness of tools for measuring the return from the use of solar energy on the level of the economic growth of the industry. The results of the study concluded: Solar energy is an important economic source for which the energy of economic controls is available to use it as an energy resource as an alternative to the traditional energy resources. And relying on solar energy does not mean neglecting other renewable sources of energy, as it is possible to make an integration between solar energy and these sources to achieve economic efficiency in using and prolonging the use of traditional sources for the benefit of future generations in a manner compatible with the environment. The use of solar energy can achieve positive effects on the economy. These effects are represented in achieving sustainable development and securing energy sources, in addition to the support it achieves in terms of competitiveness in the productive sectors. The use of solar energy as one of the most important sources of renewable energy will help to reach environmental, economic and social stability in the energy sector, in addition to that its use preserves for future generations their right to what the environment has in terms of natural economic resources. And proposals and recommendations for future studies by conducting more research and field studies with the aim of identifying the relationship between the uses of solar energy in various fields and its relationship to reducing harmful environmental impacts. And on the raw materials and alternatives that can be used from the Egyptian environment, due to the low Egyptian use rate, estimated at 5%. The extent to which research in the field of solar energy can be applied in different sectors as an environmentally friendly source compared to other environmentally harmful sources. The role of the solar energy sector, as it is one of the important and promising economic sectors that are expected to grow in Egypt. It requires concerted efforts by the state and economic and social institutions in order to remove and overcome economic, financial, and technical obstacles and restrictions as well as appropriate environmental and legislative.
