USING COMICS TO DEVELOP ENVIRONMENTAL SKILLS AND ATTITUDES TOWARDS PROTECTING NATURAL HERITAGE IN EGYPT FOR PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract

This study belongs to the qualitative (descriptive) – analytical type of studies in which the two-fold sample-survey is used in its analytical and field aspects, using also the quasi-experimental method for identifying the impact of the independent variable on comics setting which is the environmental attitudes and environmental behaviors in a sample of children, using in this, the one-group designing.
This study aims at identifying the role of environmental comics in developing environmental attitudes and environmental behaviors in a sample of children aged (5-7 yrs. old). The study sample is divided into two samples, the analytical sample listened to some comics designed specially for this research. It consists of (62) male/female students, divided into (30-males and 32 females), selected from El-Nagah Private School (both devisions Arabic and language). The study uses a pictured environmental scale for attitudes and environmental scale for behaviors as a tool for collecting data. The study comes to that: There are statistically significant differences in the scores obtained by the study sample in the scale of environmental attitudes before and after the application of the program in favor of the post application.
