EVALUATION OF THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF MICROFINANCE PROJECTS IN SOME UPPER EGYPT VILLAGES

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on the evaluation of the social impacts of micro-projects in some villages of Upper Egypt, and this is achieved through studying the social impact for the beneficiaries of the micro-projects. The sample of the study was (220) individuals from the beneficiaries of the micro-projects. The primary data for the study was collected through a social survey of the sample, where a questionnaire was designed and tested. This form was distributed to the vocabulary of the target sample. The descriptive analytical method was used in this study.
The study results showed the validity of the first hypothesis There is a statistically significant social effect of microenterprises. Finally, the study presented recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of preparing real feasibility studies for micro projects, the need to create links between banks  and local community organizations to serve the non-serviced segments, the need to pay attention to the role of micro projects in development as they serve a large segment of society segments and The necessity of taking into account an important fact, which is taking care of the impact achieved by the micro-projects on the social side on the beneficiary of the project, his family and the society in which he lives, the need to pay attention to women and look at the vital role they play in society.
