USING SOME MODERN TECHNIQUES AND THEIR REFLECTIONS ON CHANGING THE VALUE SYSTEM OF UNIVERSITY YOUTH A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN MALES AND FEMALES IN DIVERGENT ENVIRONMENTS

Abstract

The contemporary world is witnessing a set of accelerating changes in the field of communication and information technology, which has made the world a global village in which information is transmitted to all parts of the world in a few seconds. Human behavior has been affected by various technological means, as modern technologies have great effect on human life, regarding their behavior and how they relates to each other. There is no doubt that these changes have a direct impact on the individuals and institutions that make up societies, which causes societies to accept these innovations and adapt to them. The study targets the group of university youth, as they are usually affected by technological developments and successive changes and responsible for achieving hopes and aspirations of society. These conflicting and successive developments have affected the values of our youth, which some are positive, and some are negative. The study aims at exploring the effects resulting from the use of some modern technologies, and their implications for changing the value pattern of university youth, while examining the differences between males and females in their use of some modern technologies. The study sample consists of (300) male/female items from Egyptian university students, divided equally to (Ain Shams University - Port Said University - Banha University). This study belongs to the descriptive studies, using the social survey tool with the sample. The researcher uses in collecting data a questionnaire form, and scale of values.
The study has reached several results, including that: There are no differences between males and females in their use of some modern technologies, that the youth’s use of modern technology has led to their retirement and distance from their families, and that social media sites published only manifestations of apparent and formal religiosity, and lead to extravagance wastefulness. Technology causes chaos in society, causing environmental pollution such as radiation and many health problems. It also helps joining useful scientific groups increases knowledge of Egypt's history to provide job opportunities for youth and communication with relatives and friends outside the country, and helps restore links of old friendships.
