SOCIAL ASSESSMENT OF THE ROLE OF AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATIONS IN HELPING THE EGYPTIAN PEASANTA COMPARATIVE STUDY AMONG OFFICIALS AND FARMERS IN THE LOWER AND UPPER EGYPT

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the social assessment of the role of agricultural associations in helping the Egyptian peasant. The study was based on a comparison between officials and farmers in the lower and Upper Egypt of social and environmental assessment. A random sample consisting of (400) individuals was included. The sample included (200) officials from NGOs, (200) farmers, land holders and beneficiaries from cooperative societies).
This study belongs to descriptive studies using the social survey methodology using random sample, the researchers used the questionnaire and observation, and the researchers relied on some statistical methods, including (T) test, iterations, ratios and correlation coefficients.
The study concluded a number of results including: That there are reasons and factors that led to the deterioration of the role of agricultural societies at the moment, the most important of which is the absence of fixed income, and the decline of the role of the state from supporting agriculture, and the confinement of the agricultural area. The study showed that there should be an assessment of the positive and negative effects of the role of agricultural associations in rural society.
The study showed that one of the most important reasons at present is the need to assess the role of officials in agricultural associations is social communication with farmers.
The results of the study indicated that the existence of the Agricultural Society is a necessity in the life of the farmer. The study showed that one of the most important economic reasons is that the state does not support the peasant either financially or morally. The most important recommendations of the study: it is necessary to reorganize Egyptian agricultural cooperatives in order to achieve their objectives with a high degree of efficiency. Adopting advanced management methods and that those who manage cooperatives enjoy high efficiency. The cooperative organization shall be managed in the manner that its members deem appropriate for their work programs within the framework of regulations and laws, taking into account that it is a development institution with economic and social objectives without direct government intervention.
