THE IMPACT OF FAMILY PROBLEMS ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND HEALTH STATUS OF STUDENTS IN LATE CHILDHOOD

Abstract

The family is the first formative unit of society, and with the cohesion of this unit the cohesion of society is achieved. As long as the family has a great deal of cohesion and integrity, the affairs of society are reconciled and its affairs straightened out. The cohesion in the family is achieved if harmony prevails between the spouses, and its shadow extends over the rest of the family, so the atmosphere of tranquility and stability becomes prevalent in the family in order to achieve psychological comfort for its members, protect them from the influences of deviation, and support the family cohesion and strength of its strength. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the effect of family problems on the psychological and health status of students in late childhood, and the researchers selected a sample of 100 single children in late childhood, from the age of (12-16) years. The sample was chosen randomly. The researchers used the (descriptive) approach and applied the following measures: (a form to measure family disintegration and its effect on children) and (a form to measure a parent's addiction and its effect on children).
 
The study reached some results, the most important of which was the existence of a statistically significant correlation between family disintegration and the psychological state of children. There is a statistically significant correlation between family disintegration and the health status of children. The study recommends working on developed programs to solve these family problems. Providing a captive atmosphere and a psychological atmosphere for children, and taking care of the psychological and health aspects for them.
