ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL VARIABLES ASSOCIATED WITH YOUTH EMPOWERMENT IN DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Abstract

The present research aims to identify some of the environmental and social variables related to youth empowerment in development projects through the following sub-objectives: Determine the relationship between environmental variables and youth empowerment in development projects. Identify social variables related to youth empowerment in development projects and determine the relationship of the environment and its impact on projects The development provided by the community development associations, and determine the relationship between economic variables by empowering youth in development projects. The research was conducted on two communities, one rural and the eastern province and the other is represented by the governor of Cairo. This research is based on a descriptive research pattern. The research was based on the social survey methodology in both types, comprehensive with those responsible for community development associations in the research community, and the sample with the youth beneficiaries of development projects in the community development societies in the study community. A questionnaire on youth empowerment in development projects applied to officials of development associations in community development societies, and a questionnaire on youth empowerment in development projects applied to youth benefiting from development projects in community development societies. The members of the board of directors in urban areas reached (39) items for urban areas, while for the countryside they were (33) items for the countryside, and the sample was limited to the youth benefiting from the local community development societies. As for the countryside, the size of the representative sample of the research community was 154 items from the countryside. Applicable to officials after collecting and reviewing the data, the data was automatically discharged using SPSS software. The following statistical coefficients were used: repetitions and percentages mean, standard deviation, and the following hypotheses were reached: Social characteristics and youth empowerment through development projects There is a statistically significant relationship between environmental characteristics and youth empowerment through development projects.
The most important results of the research achieve the hypotheses as follows: a statistically significant relationship between social characteristics and youth empowerment through development projects, and a statistically significant relationship between environmental characteristics and youth empowerment through development projects.
The study recommends the establishment of seminars and educational campaigns for youth and the community population served by community development associations, in order to spread awareness of the importance of investment and the optimal exploitation of the potential of youth. The development of awareness among the workers of the local community associations to the need to seek development and improvement of development projects provided to young people, as the development and continuous improvement would mimic the development and growth that is always happening.
