THE EFFECT OF USING THE AUGMENTED REALITY IN PRESENTING THE CONTENT OF THE SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONCEPTS AND TRENDS AMONG PREPARATORY SCHOOL PUPILS

Abstract

The aim of the present research is to measure the effect of using augmented reality in presenting the content of the social studies curriculum for the development of environmental concepts and trends in the preparatory stage students.
The researchers used the descriptive approach in the research, analysis, design, literature, research and previous studies, and the experimental approach in controlling the research materials and tools, using the appropriate statistical methods, controlling the groups and interpreting the results.
The assessment tools were a test of the environmental concepts of the first two units of the social studies curriculum, the second semester (the natural geography of the world and the geography of the world population) for the third preparatory grade. And a measure of environmental trends.
The researchers used the two-group experimental approach, which is to use two groups, one experimental and one control group, Randomized Control Group Pretest - Posttest Design, following both pre- and post-measurement, and comparing performance results before and after the experiment to validate research hypotheses.
The researchers were able to formulate research hypotheses:
1- There is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05 α) between the average grades of experimental group students and the average grades of control group pupils in the post - application of environmental concepts test for students in the preparatory stage of the social studies course for the experimental group.
2- There is a statistically significant difference at (0.05) level between the average grades of the experimental group students and the average grades of the control group in the telemetry of the students of the preparatory stage of the social studies course in the measure of environmental direction in favor of the experimental group.
3- There is effectiveness for the use of augmented reality technology at the level (=> 1.2) in the environmental trend scale, and this effectiveness is measured using the Blake adjusted gain ratio as a function of effectiveness.
The results indicated the validity of the research hypotheses.
