MECHANISMS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL ADJUSTMENTMENT FOR CASES OF LEARNABLE DOWN SYNDROME

Abstract

The chromosomal disorder affects the development of the central nervous system. There is a lack of brain cells, so there is an impact on the mental abilities of Down syndrome. The IQ of these children is lower than the average or normal. Their degrees of retardation vary between very simple to severe. The purpose of this study is to identify the role that psycho-social compatibility centers can play in the training of Down syndrome that can be learned in the practice of many life activities in a natural way. The study used the comparative descriptive method which is based on data collection, organization, classification and comparison of data, The study used the ecological approach in terms of its attention to the physical characteristics of the environment of cases with Down syndrome in its impact on the social and psychological factors and in social behavior and its impact on it, that is, the study is interested in studying the relationship between the environment The study sample consisted of (30) male and female teachers and was divided into males by 70% and females by 30% of the sample size.
The study concluded that there were statistically significant differences between the mean of the sample of the study according to the gender variable (language skills) in favor of the (post measurement)sample  The study also showed statistically significant differences between the mean of the sample of the study according to the gender variable (behavioral skills) for the (post measurement)sample.
