The study mainly aimed to characterize the levels of psychological, social and environmental adaptation of female breadwinners in the study area, to identify the nature of the relationship between some of the study variables, and the levels of adaptation of the female breadwinners surveyed, and to determine the degree of the relative contribution of the independent variables studied in explaining the total variation of the levels of adaptation of the respondents The problems faced
The Cairo governorate was chosen to conduct the current study on it, and due to the large number of neighborhoods in Cairo governorate (37 neighborhoods), which makes it difficult to study all neighborhoods, four neighborhoods were chosen according to the administrative distribution of the governorate to conduct the study, and these neighborhoods were chosen to cover most of the borders of Cairo governorate. It was decided that a random sample was chosen from the total number of female breadwinners in the neighborhoods of the study, and four civil society associations were used to help enumerate the numbers and places of residence of female breadwinners in the four districts, and thus the strength of this sample is 150 female
The study found that there are four independent variables that contribute to explaining the total variation in the level of psychological and social adjustment for female heads of household respondents, which can be arranged in descending order as follows: standard of living (16.4%), average number of years of children's education (4.2%), annual income (3.1%), and marital status (2.9%)
