MECHANISMS OF FAMILY ADJUSTMENT IN SAMPLES OF CHILDREN WITH INTELLEETUAL DISABILITIES A STUDY APPLIED TO FAMILIES OF THE DISABLED IN QATAR

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the mechanisms of adaptation in the families of children with mental disabilities to determine the meehanisms of psychological, social, educational and economic adjustment in the families of children with mental disabilities, the objectives of the study were determined by the theoretical approach used in the theorie of psyehological analysis, behavioral and human theory, the questionnaire was selected to eollect information from the sample of the study based on the descriptive and social survey in the sample from the families of the mentally handicapped. The researchers took a random sample (the minor and intermediate disability category) and the spatial field of the country for the rehabilitation of people with special needs) and the most important results indicated that the majority of the results of a sample of children that disability among males than by (78%), followed by the proportion of females (22%) and this is due to the cause of the nature of society more masculine than feminine. The results of the study indicated that the majority of the sample of children according to age was the highest percentage among them in the age group (12 years and over) and their percentage (36%), followed by the age group (10 years) and their proportion (25%), followed by the age group (8 years) and the lowest perecntage of the age group (less than 8 years) and their proportion (8%). The results of the study indicated that the majority of households sample that the health status of a child is good (55%) followed by the health condition of a bad child (26%) followed by the health status of the average child (19%).
