Abstract

The study aimed to develop the public's environmental responsibility through a proposed model and measure the effectiveness of the proposed model on developing the public's environmental responsibility. The descriptive approach and the quasi-experimental approach were used, and it prepared a list of mechanisms for adapting to the environment, and prepared an analysis form (form and content), and a sample of news websites were analyzed, namely (Youm 7 website - Al-Ahram website - Ska News website) in the period from 10/1/ 2022 AD until 12/31/2022 AD, as well as preparing a training program and a proposed model (a website entitled: Our Home, the Earth). A measure of environmental responsibility was also prepared and applied before and after viewing the proposed model on the study sample, which numbered (50). The researchers concluded that: (measures taken by governments to adapt to the environment) came at the forefront of the main ideas around which the content of published materials on mechanisms for adapting to the environment revolved in newspapers and news websites, with a percentage of (26%). The results also showed: the effectiveness of the proposed model in developing environmental responsibility among people. The public showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the research sample for the total score of the environmental responsibility scale, where the t value reached (21.66), which is a significant value at a significant level (0.05), and the average scores of the pre-application sample was (44.44), and the average scores of the post-application sample. (138.94) in favor of post-application.
