Abstract

The study aimed to develop knowledge and environmental decision-making skills among first-year students at the Higher Institute of Computers in Shubra. The experimental method was used, where 63 male and female students were selected as an experimental group of those enrolled in the first year of the institute for the academic year 2021/2022, with 40 male and female students as a control group. The study tools were: a proposed unit on environmental planning and management, a knowledge test and a scale for environmental decision-making skills.
The proposed unit was applied to the experimental group, test and scale, and the study concluded that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the environmental planning and management knowledge test and in the environmental decision-making skills scale, in favor of the dimensional application of the proposed unit.
The study also found that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control group and the experimental group in all knowledge of environmental planning and environmental management, and in all degrees of the environmental decision-making skills scale in favor of the experimental group in the post application.
The study recommends developing the content of the general management subject, by including additional units on knowledge of planning and environmental management, because of its impact on the development of knowledge and environmental decision-making skills.
