Abstract

This research drives at spotlighting the social factors as well as the stresses and psychological problems caused for workers by work environment in road transportation companies; identifying as well the suggestions of workers to improve three main aspects in the companies, the (operational - psychological – administrative) aspects through proposing a program for improving social and psychological performance of employees, supporting and protecting the socio-psychological setting of those workers in road transportation field.
The research sample consists of three transportation companies for passengers’ transportation following the Holding Company for Marine and Road Transportation.
This research belongs to the descriptive (qualitative) type of researches, using the social survey class sample counting on a questionnaire form as the basic research tool for collecting data. (400) questionnaire forms are administered on employees in the three previously mentioned companies concerning their views of the social and psychological factors caused by work environment and their suggestions to improve their work environment. There is a reverse correlation between the proposed program for improving the social and psychological performance of employees and the work background that leads to psychological problems.
