CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS RELATED TO THE EXTENT TO WHICH EGYPTIAN SOCIETY ACCEPTS THE USE OF NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the mental image of the new energy and renewable energy research sample and the role of cultural factors such as habits, traditions, popular beliefs and the role of environmental factors such as income level, education, place of residence and determining the impact of economic factors use of new and renewable energy.
The objectives of the current study are: to identify the role of cultural factors (habits, traditions, popular beliefs); to identify the role of environmental factors such as income level, education, housing; and determining the impact of economic factors (income, commodity prices) on the use of new and renewable energy.
The methodology of the study uses the Social Survey which is a descriptive scientific of the entire society or sector thereof, whether it is geographically or functionally, and that the current facts, which are united by the objectives of the study, are the subject of the study.
The objective of the study is not merely to record facts, but to classify them so as to facilitate dealing not only with the aim of analysis and interpretation but also with the aim of investing later.
The research tool is a questionnaire: a means to collect data and achieve its goal of research and used in social research several tools (observation, questionnaire and interview).
The researchers used a random sample of 200 cases, taken from the largest areas of Greater Cairo: superior area (Nasr City) and popular area. (Report of 2018 in Cairo governorate)
The study results showed that 80% had no knowledge or awareness of the mental field study in the sample of the new energy and renewable energy sample. Under the influence of cultural and environmental factors, advanced age was more conscious and the upper layer was more aware. The study showed that 55% prefer the use of new and renewable energy with bank loans and 45% prefer to obtain by providing more places to sell and install and provide payment for a number of months. The most important recommendations are: the importance of conducting studies on the factors associated with the use of new and renewable energy as one of the research tools to identify the use of new and renewable energy. Recommendations also increase the awareness of a large proportion of people about the new and renewable energy and the different classes of society also different age groups, Percentage of advanced age groups and upper class also have little awareness. Loans should be provided in larger proportions. The study showed that 75% of the samples support the availability of easy access to new and renewable energy with bank loans, savings and refund and recommend providing easy installation and periodic maintenance.
